Lori the actor ...
Lori Fischer is the 2008 New York University Harry Kondoleon Graduate Award in Playwriting recipient and a 2008-09 Dramatists Guild Fellow.  She is also the author of the critically acclaimed musical Barbara’s Blue Kitchen, which played Off-Broadway at The Lamb’s Theatre in 2006 and was published by Samuel French in 2007. Her work has been seen at the 2007 and 2008 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, the 2007 Stonestreet Film Festival, the 2005 RIPFEST Film Festival, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and The Adirondack Theatre Festival.  Her play Petie is a 2007 Goldberg Award Runner-up and a David Mark Cohen Award nominee.  Her play Real Life Drama  received a reading at the 2008 Kennedy Center M.F.A. Playwriting Workshop and was a 2009 Wordbridge Semi-finalist. Other writing credits include:  Pat The Bunny Sing With Me! an up-beat collection of children’s songs based on the best selling children’s book Pat The Bunny, which was published by Golden Books/Sony Wonder, The Things That You Can Do (Golden Books) and the top forties country song It’s Easy For You.  Lori received her M.F.A. from New York University.  Most recently, Lori’s ten-minute short Retreat was featured in the 2009 RIPFEST Film Festival.  As an actress, Ms. Fischer created the Off-Broadway role of Barbara Jean in her show Barbara’s Blue Kitchen and Lee in the hit musical Cowgirls.  Regionally, she has appeared at The Old Globe Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, The Berkshire Theatre Festival, Theatre Virginia, Shenandoah University, Michigan State Theatre, Tennessee Repertory Theatre, Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and Playmaker’s Repertory Company where she received critical acclaim for her portrayal of the title role in the show, Violet. Most recently Lori appeared in the film Welcome to the World.   A two-time All American in Track and Field, she has sung the National Anthem for the New York Yankees and the Cincinnati Reds.  Most recently, Lori performed the role Elmadora in the musical Son of a Gun at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center.
